It was an INCREDIBLE weekend with gimmel, daled, hay and vav students! Â Our madrichim were amazing as were the teachers who, as a team, staffed this weekend away from home. Â While we were housed in new bunks (the smell of the new varnish is still in many of our clothes), ate in a new dining hall and hung out in a new common room we were all happy to be at Ashokan. Â Many of the familiar sounds and smells have changed, but new ones will replace the old. Â The sight of the field covered in snow was a welcome way to spend the morning before lunch! Â Playing gaga and Ashokan games were as awesome as ever. Â Not to mention the WONDERFUL songs that each learning group created in an effort to teach us about an important character in the Hebrew Bible!
Our evening sing-a-longs lead by Maddy, Rebecca and Solomon were great! We were delighted by the accordion, guitars and the ukulele as well as the voices of all of the students! Â There is so much to tell about our adventures … night experience, 2 hour hike, morning hike, challenge and discovery, ropes course, bedtime songs … great food, time to chill … and the bus rides! Â Please browse through the many photos and post questions and comments to help us share what YOU want to know about the place/experience, simply known as Ashokan!
